Choir Boy

August 17, 2011

What started as a simple lip synching exercise using sounds of Arnold Schwarzenegger devolped into an intense 12hour+ animation frenzy.

It made perfect sense to turn him into the Hulk especially since Arnie didn’t get the role in the 1970’s TV show because he was apparrently too short.

This seems unfair to me because it didn’t stop Elijah Wood getting the part of Frodo for being too tall. You can do a lot with in camera magic and how short is ‘short’? Arnie is at least 6ft 2”! Ridiculous.

If he had been in it I have no doubt it would have been bigger than Star Trek.

The title came last minute mostly because i’m not a big Superman fan (let’s face it he’s just an intergalactic stepchild) and I couldn’t quite figure who Arnie (as the hulk) would be saying that to.

Totem

July 23, 2010

Here’s a little doodle I did a week or so ago. It gave me an idea for a wood carving or totem thing.

A while ago my father cut down a cherry tree we had in our garden for years and kept all the wood. So I got a fairly small log and started preparing to carve way.

I’m going to change the top of the carving into something more intricate and gripping…something with an aztec vibe to it. I like aztec stuff.

Weird Science Covered

April 3, 2010

I’ve just had my first entry to covered posted. I had been working on and off on it . The colouring took me the longest to do because there are so many to choose from! That, and I wanted to make my original black and white image as striking as possible without doing too much to it.

Didn’t work out that way. In any event it was good digital colouring practice.

You can see it here

I did two versions but went with the full coloured one because it seems more action packed and it looks nicer.
