Meanwhile in the Music Industry

July 3, 2013

Before you read, play this song as an accompanying piece to heighten the experience.

I wasn’t sure if I should post this as it’s a bit of a cheap shot. I asked my brother, he said: ‘It’s like slagging off the stereophonics, everyone knows that they’re shit.’
I responded ‘But should I post it?’
He replied ‘If the NME like them then you should post it, if not…’

April Doodles 2013 Update

April 30, 2013

It’s been a while since I have uploaded any sketches or doodles, partly because I’ve had so many other things to do and mostly because I can’t be arsed doing it.

Having said that, I hope you enjoy the ones I have recently uploaded and all the others in case you haven’t seen them before.

Captain Planet #1 Remixed

April 17, 2013

The ony reason I’m posting this is because over time there have been numerous questionable search engine terms that have led people to my blog. The most recent (and not the first time I might add) was ‘batman porn blog‘. Therefore I see this as an opportunity to up the ante somewhat in this depraved game.

The other day I picked up a copy of Captain Planet and The Planeteers Comic #1 While flipping through it I found that some of the panels when taken out of context appealed to my purile and perverted sense of humour. Naturally I wanted to share this with the rest of the class so I paid the princely sum of 50 pence for the comic and did what any slightly bored and talented (whilst I’m at it; charming, handsome and modest) individual would do, and rearragend them into my own twisted little story…

March Modok Madness

March 25, 2013

March is March Modok Madness just like November is Movember and January is Fanuary. Such are the times that we live in.

Modok, for all that don’t know is a a Marvel character created by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee. As a result of his head being so large his body is unable to support its weight and so he has to skoot around in a hover chair. On the plus side he can do a whole bunch of things like shoot mind blasts and generate force fields with his mind!

Stuff like that.

Oh and his name is an acronym: Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing. What does yours stand for?

Exactly.

My two of my sumbissions for 2013 can be found here and here and recieved a nice little write up. For those too lazy to click the links here they are:

Birds Comic

February 12, 2013

As I’m sure some of you are aware, mine and Natalies’ comic about birds is now available.

If you would like a copy you can buy one HERE.

This is a small preview of my work in the book:

I’m not sure what or when the next one will be but I am working on a new one of my own, a childrens book about Tom Cruise.

Stay tuned.

Rapin’ and a Pillagin’

December 16, 2012

I work part time in a library and I often find students’ discarded photcopies. This was one of them that I felt had potential to become something greater than simple food for the bin.

There are a couple more coming up in this style but I’ll post them after I have finished my part of the comic Natalie and I have collaborated on.

It depresses me how long it is taking me to finish it because there’s not even a weeks worth of work to do, (sigh) paid work takes priority.

Three Portraits of Willem Dafoe

October 29, 2012

After seeing Streets of Fire I was entranced. There was something very compelling about Mr Dafoes’ performance and his very striking face.

This is the pencil work if you are a) interested and b) feel like inking/colouring your own version.

These two bad boys were done with water colour and ink (using a dipping pen) and Ink/wash with a brush respectively. That is all.

Hungry, Horny Vampire

October 11, 2012

In celebration of the fact that I have just finished another sketchbook (this one lasted 4 months), I present you with two collages from its depths.

I say collage all I did was stick some photocopied images down and draw on them using a pen, then colour them using water colours. There isn’t a single piece of dried pasta or string there. I didn’t even use PVA glue!

On a side note, I have been working on writing a film about vampires (who isn’t?), one of those done when it’s done type things. Although now, after just having typed up this little post I’ve just given myself another idea for a psychedelic little short with bloodsuckers. How wonderfully self gratifying.
